The popular online dating site notes that men who listed reading as one of their interests received 19% more messages while women readers received a 3% bump in communication.

Reading itself is an attractive pastime, according to research released by online dating site eHarmony. However, while well-read men received almost 20% more messages than their peers, women who listed reading as a hobby received 7% less. So much for all those men who are into “sapiosexuals”.

What is considered a lot of reading?
There is no 1 answer. Some things you read once and you can read 14 simple novels a week. In my experience, “a lot of reading”usually means “more than the observer would read on their own.” I don’t consider “The Lord of the Rings”to be a lot of reading because I enjoy reading it.
